This page explains what Movie World does with data. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
What we store
- If you browse without an account: nothing that identifies you personally. The site keeps aggregate counts of which titles are opened so popular pages can be surfaced.
- If you create an account: the email address or Telegram identity you signed up with, your display name, your watch history and library, and your preferences. That is what an account is for.
- Technical logs: short-lived server logs used to find errors and block abuse.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data. We do not buy it. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on title pages.
Third parties
- TMDB supplies title data, posters and ratings. Images are requested from TMDB servers, so they receive your IP address as part of serving an image.
- YouTube hosts trailers. A trailer is only loaded when you choose to play one.
- Google Analytics may be enabled to count page views in aggregate, with IP anonymisation on.
Cookies and local storage
The site uses a session cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember preferences such as your library and subtitle settings. Clearing site data removes them.
Your data
You can ask us to export or delete your account and everything attached to it. Use the contact page; deletion is permanent.
Children
Accounts are not intended for children under 13.
